Faculty BioWe study how the brain integrates nutritional signals to regulate the reproductive axis, and how ovarian steroids (estrogen and progesterone) and insulin sensitivity influence brain activity associated with appetite regulation. The primary approach used in the laboratory is functional magnetic resonance imaging. This research will lead to a better understanding of appetite regulation and provide new avenues for the development of therapeutic options for the prevention/treatment of obesity and other eating disorders.
