Teaching Assistant Opportunities
Applications are being accepted for Teaching Assistantships (TAships) in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences.
You must be available to TA for the full Fall Term and/or Winter Term. If you plan to be absent during the Term, i.e. take holidays, attend conferences, off-campus research, etc., it is advised that you reconsider pursuing a TAship at this time.
We will do our best to accommodate your request, however, we cannot guarantee you will receive a TAship. TAs who do not carry out their duties satisfactorily may lose their TAship.
All Teaching Assistants selected must have participated in this year’s or previous TA Day training sessions. This all-day Teaching Development Day training is offered the first week of September through the Centre for Teaching & Learning.
It will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 9:00am – 4:30pm.
Lastly, all Teaching Assistants must complete the Accessible Customer Service Online Training, AODA-800. This will be integrated into the BMED 860 graduate course. If you are not taking this course then you must complete AODA-800 through the Equity Office online. Please use the following link;
TA appointments and rate of pay will be made according to the Collective Agreement between PSAC and Queen’s University on behalf of Graduate Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows at Queen’s University.
**You must have your supervisor’s permission to TA. Your application will not be considered without your supervisor’s signature. Please fill out the form, save the pdf, print, have your supervisor sign and submit the application in by Friday, July 3, 2015.
Application Deadline: Friday, July 3, 2015
