As concerns the respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, and endocrine/reproductive systems, by the end of this course, you should:
- have acquired foundational knowledge about the function of cells, tissues, and organs within the context of the whole animal
- relate this knowledge to relevant and specific anatomical features (structure) and their cellular and biochemical processes (function)
- understand key functional interactions between the various organ systems
- have developed your ability to solve problems of an integrative physiologic nature on the basis of course instructional material
- appreciate the limitations of our existing knowledge and the active contributions of biomedical research to expanding our knowledge of human and general mammalian function
