A recent study from recent PhD graduate Paulina Brzezinska in Don Maurice’s lab was published in JBC and defines reciprocal regulation of store-operated calcium channels and cyclic AMP signaling networks in arterial smooth muscle cells,


 1) Phosphodiesterase PDE1C-mediated cAMP hydrolysis is THE "trigger" that reverses PKA-mediated inhibition of SOCE through Orai1

 2) This mechanisms allows dynamic linking between SOCE and Ca2+-dependent regulation of cAMP synthesis at the leading edges of migrating cells.
