Biography
I am a University of Toronto-trained philosopher with expertise in environmental and healthcare ethics. Early in my career at Queen’s, I served as the Director of the Faculty of Health Sciences Office of Bioethics and the Ethics Lead for the Queen’s Undergraduate Medicine Program. I also worked as the Clinical Ethicist at Kingston General Hospital, providing ethics consultation and continuing education. In 2016, I joined the DBMS Bachelor of Health Sciences Program as the health humanities expert.
My work centres on the pivotal role of values in structuring institutional policies and practices, and guiding individual identity, decisions, and actions. In my various roles, I have always prioritized working in partnership with other disciplines and professions. My latest course collaboration is with Career Services. Together, we are helping graduating students align their personal values with their academic interests, skills, career ambitions, and desire to make a positive difference in the world.
