BMED 809 - Principles of Drug Discovery and Development Not offered in 2021-2022 3 units Instructors Louise Winn An advanced course in which various aspects of the drug discovery and development process, from molecules to community, will be studied. The course comprises lectures, discussion and student seminars, based on recent literature. Topics encompass medicinal chemistry approaches to drug discovery, receptor theory, mechanisms of drug action, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics, drug resistance, clinical trials, and regulatory affairs. *Offered in the Winter term in years ending with an odd number Prerequisites Permission of the Graduate Program required Exclusions PHAR 811 Method of Delivery 3 hour seminar.
