NSCI 403 - Introduction to Neuroimaging Winter 2025 (On-Campus) Year 4 9-10 hours/week 3 units Available On-Campus Course This course covers the theory and practice of modern neuroimaging methods. Topics include data acquisition, research study design, and analysis methods. Functional MRI is presented in the most depth, but computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), are also covered. Prerequisites Minimum 4th year (Level 4) standing, registration in a LISC/BHSc Major or SSP, a GPA of 2.5, and one of (NSCI 323/3.0; NSCI 324/3.0; ANAT 312/3.0; PSYC 271/3.0; PSYC 370/3.0). Information to support the course material will be obtained from various freely-available online sources. Copies of a text book on MRI theory and functional MRI will be available in Bracken Library (“Essentials of Functional MRI”, by P. Stroman). Course materials in the form of PowerPoint slides for each lecture will also be provided.
